Nevirous has defeated 10 man normal mode Deathwing. It took a combination of our two 10 man groups and shifting around to get the needed buffs and cooldowns, but we were successful.

It took us two weeks on him and probably only 20 wipes total (just a guesstimate - we didn't count).

For Nevirous, this is a huge success. We are a casual guild and none of our members take raiding as seriously as the raiding guilds on our server. We don't always have the best specs or gear; not everyone is gemmed and enchanted; and we just got fish feasts the day before we downed Deathwing.

I thought I would take a moment to mention our raid progression during this expansion (based on data found on http://wow-heroes.com/). All dates listed are guild achievements.

Tier 11:

• Nevirous pugged a LOT in Tier 11. Many of our original kills were not guild achievements.
• 220 days after Cataclysm's release we defeated Nefarian
• 221 days Al'Akir faded
• 234 days Cho'gall was downed
• Each of these kills was after the significant raid nerf.

Tier 12:

• Tier 12 started with quite a bit of pugging, but finally settled into a full guild group.
• We acquired a lot of new members and started doing two 10 man runs and even pugged a 25 man one night.
• 89 days after Firelands was released we snuffed Ragnaros out
• We had defeated Shannox, Beth'tilac, Lord Rhyolith, and Baleroc pre-nerf. Alysrazor and Majordormo Fandral Staghelm fell the week of the nerf. Ragnaros himself took a while to master.

Tier 13:

• Nevirous started strong when Dragon Soul was released. We defeated the first 4 bosses in our first night in the raid. Ultraxion was a bit of a dps and gear check. The Christmas holiday slowed our progression a little bit, but the following week we downed Warmaster Blackhorn and Spine of Deathwing. Finally, pre-nerf, Nevirous ended Deathwing the Destroyer. We were consistently running two 10 man groups during the entire tier.
• 47 days after Dragon Souls was released, Deathwing met his end

This made me want to look back at Wrath of the Lich King where I remember hundreds and hundreds of wipes on the Lich King himself. Low dps was our bane with everyone wanting to stand in defile.

• Icecrown Citadel was released on December 8, 2009.
• January 24, 2010 - First wing completed. I personally remember wiping a ton on Marrowgar.
• May 29, 2010 - Plague wing
• August 21 & 22, 2010 - Blood and Frost wings completed
• October 22, 2010 - The Lich King falls - 318 days after release

It took us 47 days to down Marrowgar, the first boss in the final raid of the Lich King expansion. It took us 47 days to down Deathwing, the final boss of the Cataclysm expansion.

After taking a little time off for the holidays, Nevirous came back with a vengeance. Warmaster Blackhorn and Spine of Deathwing were defeated before the resets leaving Nevirous at 7/8 for Dragon Soul 10 man Normal mode with only Madness of Deathwing remaining. The group put in some attempts at Madness, but decided to call it a night and get another week's worth of gear under their belt.

In the alt run, the guild noticed that Ultraxion had lost a bit of health (12 million of it).

With two of the healers helping to dps (woot shamans), the group defeated Ultraxion on 12-17-2011.

Aluri felt the urge to create some wallpapers for Christmas gifts.

DISCLAIMER: Aluri is not an artist. Most of these wallpapers were created using paint and PowerPoint (yes, really). She wanted to give a few gifts that people could use and were meaningful. Aluri had a unique concept in mind for each individual and found fonts and backgrounds to match. It's the thought that counts right?

The fifth boss, Ultraxion is designed to be a gear check and requires high dps and strong healing. Unfortunately, we don't have the dps to beat him quite yet. Gear this tier comes fast though with valor, LFR, and 10 man raiding so I expect him to go down in the next few weeks.

Sadly, we forgot to take a picture (the bosses were dying so fast!), but below are the individuals who helped us succeed.
